I gulped as I looked at the Irken. He was taller than my father by half a foot. He was all blue like me and Myra. He looked down at me with a confused look.

“Who are you?” he asked.

“This is Mason. He’s a new ghost boy,” Myra said coming up beside me.

I gave a small wave and the Irken chuckled.

“Dude you look as if I’m gonna have you die a second time. Name’s Zack,” he said holding out his hand.

I looked at the hand and shook it. Zack let go of me and looked at Myra.

“So what’s he doing here?” he asked.

“He’s going to be staying with us,” Myra said.

Both me and Zack’s eyes went wide as we stared at Myra.

“I am?” I asked.

“He is?” Zack asked at the same time.

“Of course! I’m not letting him figure out his powers all by his lonesome!” Myra said.

Zack sighed and gave a small shrug.

“Ok then…but listen here buddy…don’t go in my room. Got it?” he asked me.

I nodded.

“Good,” he said before disappearing, making me jump a foot off the ground, then two, then three.

“M-Myra! What’s going on!?” I asked hanging upside down in the air.

“You’re flying Mason. It’s a power that we have,” she said flying next to me and turning me right side up, “That’s gonna be the first power we’re gonna have to help you learn to do.”

I nodded. Hopefully all the powers I had were easy to do; sometimes I wasn’t the best learner.

It took us three whole days straight just for me to get close to flying right. I never felt tired, which felt kind of weird. I was so used to being alive that I still thought I would need to sleep.  I was just glad she was patient enough to put up with my screw ups…she was like mom when it came to the patience. But I tried not to think about my parents too much. Though I can’t cry I still don’t like thinking of them. It makes me sad, especially when someone hugged me. Hugging was the last thing my mom did to me…and now I can’t see her again.

After getting a few of my powers down I ended up meeting the rest of Timmy’s family. His two newborn little siblings Tiffany and Tommy, his parents, and the SIRs that live with him. Over the years I never changed, which helped prove that Myra was right. I know she was nice enough not to lie, but I felt like it was impossible so it was hard to believe her.

I now pose as Tammy, Myra’s little girl form, and Zero, Zack’s teenage boy form, little brother. I still got to keep my name since no one knew me from when I was living, unlike Zack and Myra who knew Timmy’s parents before. I found it a little unfair that they got to see people they loved before they were dead, but thinking of how my parents would react to seeing me I kind of understood, though I wasn’t happy about it.

Now I consider Myra as a mother like figure, and Zack as the fun uncle. Residing with them was a good idea. I made lots of friends. Some who know I’m a ghost, and some who don’t. I just wish I could see my parents again…

Five years later in someone else’s POV~~~

I stared at the picture again. My mom sat me down on the bed and sat next to me. She took a deep breath and stared to tell me who the person in it was.

“That person in the picture is your brother. He…died…before you were born,” she said in a soupy voice.

“From what?” I asked.

“From a sickness the doctors had never seen before,” mom said.

I looked at the picture that had my older brother in it. My mom was sitting on the grass hugging him in her lap. Dad was sitting beside them with a smile on his face. My brother looked happy and so did my parents. Mom sighed and stood up. A question popped up into my head.

“Are ghosts real?” I asked.

“If they were then your brother would probably have come to see us a long time ago don’t you think?” she asked turning back to me.

“What if he wasn’t allowed?” I asked.

Mom sighed and shook her head.

“I don’t know Nia. You’re welcome to keep the picture. I don’t think I should keep it anymore,” she said before walking out of her room.

I sighed and looked back at the picture of my parents and older brother that I had found in my mom’s sock drawer. I turned the picture over. On the back was written “Mason, age 6”. Neither of my parents were named Mason. So I assumed it was my brother’s name.

“If there are such things as ghosts Mason…I will find you,” I whispered before getting off my mom’s bed and heading back to my room, “I will find you.”
