The girl who came from the stars Ch 24

Zim woke up feeling good. He went downstairs to see Gaz sitting on the couch watching TV with gir. He looked at the clock that said 7 am.

“You’re up early.” Gaz said looking at Zim with a blank face.

“You are too!” Zim said looking at Gaz and giving a smug smile.

Gaz gave an angry grunt and turned back to the TV. Zim started towards the kitchen, but Gaz got up from the couch and stopped him at the kitchen door.

“Are you going to be like my dad and spend all your time in the lab?” Gaz asked crossing her arms and opening her right eye.

“No I was actually thinking of making breakfast for everyone. You know, as a surprise?” Zim said. “Why do you care anyway?” Zim asked giving her a little suspicious smile.

Even though Zim didn’t know Gaz very well he knew she didn’t care for others.

“I’m just bored and thought if you weren’t busy we could play games again. I want to see if I can win.” She said giving a shrug.

“Well….I really wanted to make breakfast for everyone. How about you help me with that and if we have time we can play games?” Zim suggested smiling down at Gaz.

“Fine, whatever.” Gaz grumbled kicking the floor.

Zim walked past Gaz and went to go get the chef’s hat and apron. He opened the kitchen closet and put on the chef’s hat and apron. Gaz looked at him weird. He handed Gaz an apron. She hesitated at first but put it on anyway. Zim had Gir show him how to make waffles again.

“What kind of waffles do you like?” Gaz asked zim getting a weird feeling from the quietness.

“What do you mean what kind?” Zim asked turning his head towards her while he was mixing a bowl of batter.

“I mean as in what flavor? Chocolate chip? Blueberry? Strawberry? What?”  She asked turning her head to him while she was setting up the pan.

“I didn’t know there were different kinds. I don’t know what kind I’ve been eating.” Zim said shrugging.

Gaz walked to the fridge and looked inside. She took out a plastic box filled with blueberries and a plastic box filled with strawberries. She closed the refrigerator door and set the boxes down on the counter. Zim watched her curiously, with no clue what she was doing. Then Gaz went into the cabinet and took out a bag of chocolate chips. Zim walked up cautiously and looked curiously at the bag of chocolate chips.

Gaz walked up to the pan with the waffles in it and put some chocolate chips into the waffle that Zim was making at the time. She set the bag down on the counter. When the waffle was done cooking she took it out of the pan. She cut a piece and put it on the fork. Gaz put it in front of Zim’s mouth. Zim stared at the waffle like it was poison. He didn’t want to eat it.

“Go on. Eat it. It won’t kill you.” Gaz said having it go closer to his face.

“I don’t know….what if does?” Zim asked looking at the piece of waffle, scared.

“Have you eaten chocolate before?” Gaz asked.

“Yea but-” Zim started.

As soon as zim opened his mouth Gaz shoved it in. Zim started to chew and liked what he was eating. He grabbed the bag of chocolate chips from the counter and put some more into the other waffles. Gaz put some blueberries in and some strawberries in some of the other waffles. They were having fun. At one point they had a small food fight. They flung batter all over the kitchen.

When they were done they had Gir lick up all the batter that was on the floor, walls, and ceiling. Then they went back to making waffles. After a while they ran out of waffle batter, but only had enough waffles for the both of them.

“Guess we shouldn’t have had that food fight.” Zim said chuckling.

“Yea. I guess we shouldn’t have, but it was fun.” Gaz said giving an evil smile.

“It was fun!” Zim said with a happy face.

Zim turned to the waffles, and then turned back to Gaz.

“What else do you humans eat for breakfast?” Zim asked Gaz giving a worried look that the breakfast wasn’t going to be as good as he hoped.

Gas looked at the plate of waffles and thought for a moment.

“Have any eggs?” Gaz asked, turning back to Zim.

Zim went to fridge and looked inside. He found some eggs on one of the shelves. He grabbed them and walked over to Gaz. He handed them to her. Gaz took the eggs and cooked them in the pan. She added some ingredients while making the scrambled eggs. Zim was watching closely for when he wanted to make them next time.

“You mind not breathing down my neck?” Gaz asked angrily.

“Sorry.” Zim said taking a few steps back.

“How about toast?” Gaz asked while she was mixing the eggs with everything else.

“That I can do!” zim said happily putting his arms above his head.

Zim went to go get the bread out of the cabinet. He climbed up onto the counter to reach. Gaz was behind Zim on the floor. Zim almost had it when he accidentally bumped into the flour. It was a big package and it fell onto zim.

Zim fell backwards and landed on Gaz. The bag fell onto Zim. Zim pushed the bag off of him and got off Gaz as quickly as he could. Both of them were covered in flour. Zim thought they looked funny. Gaz was frowning, mad that zim fell on her. She was still on the floor.

“We look like ghosts!” zim said laughing.

Gaz’s frown turned into a small smile. She gave a little chuckle. Gir was laughing his head off next to them. Zim helped Gaz get up.

“How about we scare Dib when he comes down from upstairs?” Gaz suggested giving an evil smirk.

“OK!” zim said jumping up and down giving a big smile.

Zim took off the apron and hat and put flour on the parts of him that weren’t white. Gaz took off her apron and covered herself with more flour as well. Then Zim ran to steps in order to scare Dib when he came down. Zim was jumping up and down excitedly. Gaz walked up to Zim.

“Why is it you act like a little kid?” she asked Zim looking at him curiously.

“What do you mean?” Zim asked turning to her.

“How come you’ve been acting childish? You’ve been acting a little like gir.” Gaz said crossing her arms.

“I guess ever since I was told my mission was a lie I don’t have any pressure or any reason to be the way I was before. I didn’t even notice I’ve been acting like this until now.” He said shrugging.

“Ok…” Gaz said giving zim a look.

They heard footsteps coming down the stairs and Dib’s voice. Gaz and Zim got ready to jump.

At the same time upstairs~ ~ ~

Dib woke up to find him in some strange room. He looked around to see the Irken symbol on the wall behind him that Zim forgot to take down. Dib remembered he slept over Zim’s house and got up. The aroma of breakfast made him feel good and warm. He went into the hallway and turned to almost bump into Charlotte who was wearing the clothes she wore the day before.

“Oops. Sorry.” Dib said blushing and giving a small smile.

“Don’t worry about it!” she said giving a smile as well.

“Come on. Let’s go downstairs and see how many waffles your little robot made.”  Dib said walking towards the steps.

Charlotte nodded and they headed for the stairs. Dib was at the last step when Gaz and Zim popped out.

“BOOGA! BOOGA! BOOGA!” Zim and Gaz screamed waving there hands around freakishly.

“AHHHHHHHHHH!” Dib screamed falling back on to the steps.

Zim and Gaz laughed there full heads off. They fell back onto the floor. Gir was on the couch laughing as well. Dib’s face grew red with anger.

“That’s not funny!” Dib screamed angrily.

Zim stopped laughing. He got up and looked at Gaz with a serious face. Gaz stopped laughing and looked at Zim with a confused face. She was still on the floor.

“He’s right Gaz….that wasn’t funny…” Zim said with a serious voice.

Gaz looked at him in shock.

“…that was hilarious!” he said bursting out laughing again.

Gaz burst out laughing too. Zim fell back onto the floor and rolled around.

“What’s up with you two? Why are you white?” Charlotte asked still on the steps and giving them a puzzled look.

“We accidentally got covered with flour when zim went to go get the bread for some toast.” Gaz explained still laughing.

“We thought it would be fun to scare you!” Zim said laughing.

Dib gave Zim an angry look, but Zim didn’t notice. Zim got up and ran to the kitchen. Dib, Gaz, and Charlotte walked into the kitchen. Zim was on the counter again and he grabbed a towel to clean himself off with.

He was about to get off when he slipped into the sink with water in it. SPLASH! Zim let out a big wave of water, luckily it hit no one. Zim braced himself for the pain of the water, but none came.

“Odd. I don’t remember putting paste on this morning,” Zim said confused.

“Oh well. No time to figure it out. Let’s eat before the waffles get cold!” Charlotte said.

“Uh, ok.” Zim said trying to get out of the sink.

Zim put his hands on the sides of the sink and pushed. His hands slipped and made him fall back into the sink.

“Uh…can I have some help here please?” he asked blushing in embarrassment.

Gaz and Charlotte hopped up onto the counter to help Zim. He put his hands out and the girls grabbed his hands. They tried to pull but he only got him out a little, then Gaz slipped and landed on him. Her face hit his chest and she got soaked.

“Oops. Sorry.” Zim said still sitting in the sink.

Gaz pushed onto Zim’s chest to get up, but either kept slipping and hitting him or getting herself hurt. She finally got up intact with the help of Charlotte and they were able to pull Zim up. When they finally pulled him up Gaz and Zim were white, wet, and very uncomfortable.

“So much for this new friendship. So far we have had Dib and Charlotte get into the middle of a robbery, now this!” Zim said slapping his wet hand against his head.

“Oh well, let’s get you two dried off.” Dib said.

Zim and Gaz went up stairs. Gaz had to use some of Charlotte’s clothes while her clothes were drying. Gaz wore a pair of black jeans that were a size too big and a pink t-shirt that said “all my black shirts were dirty” in black letters. Zim stayed in his clothes. He couldn’t find anything clean.

“I have an idea! Why not give you a new disguise?! That would be cool!” Charlotte said excitedly after Zim told them he had nothing clean.

“I don’t know. It’s sounds kind of dangerous.” Zim said.

“How is it going to be dangerous?” Dib asked.

Zim thought for a moment, and then he decided to agree. Charlotte went down to the lab to go see what a good disguise would be for Zim. Zim, Dib, Gir, and Gaz went back to the kitchen to clean up the mess. Then they ate the waffles and eggs that Zim and Gaz had cooked. At around 9 in the morning there was a knock at the door. Dib opened it to find his father. Zim came out of the kitchen with Gaz not wearing his disguise.

“Son, who’s that,” Asked the professor seeing Zim.

Zim realized he didn’t have disguise on and tried to hide his antennas. Gaz walked in front of Zim and he tried to duck behind her, but it was too late.

“Zim?” the professor asked recognizing the green skin and the clothes.

Just then Charlotte came out of the lab. She saw Zim was hiding behind Gaz. She saw the professor at the door and walked up to him.

“Hello! You must be Mr. Membrane!” Charlotte said giving a smile and a wave.

“Yes, I am. Who are you?” the professor asked looking at Charlotte and raising an eyebrow.

Zim took the opportunity of Charlotte making conversation to go upstairs to go get his disguise. Gaz went up with him.

“My name is Charlotte! I’m Zim’s new adopted sister!” she told him holding out her hand.

The professor shook her hand. The professor walked and Dib shut the door behind his dad. The professor was amazed at Zim’s base. It was very high tech. Most of the stuff in there he had never seen before. Zim came down in his disguise followed by Gaz who was still wearing Charlotte’s clothes

“Hello professor.” Zim said hoping he wouldn’t remember what he saw when he first got there.

“Hello zim! It’s finally nice to see you and Dib getting along instead of fighting all the time.” He said happily. “Might I ask why you looked the way you did when I first got here?” the professor asked.

Zim looked from the professor to Dib, who looked worried. Dib always wanted his dad to believe him when he said Zim was an alien, but now he didn’t want his dad to find out. Zim sighed and took his disguise off. The professor saw Zim’s antennas and ruby eyes and looked at him in shock.

“The truth is professor…I really am an alien.” Zim said with sad eyes.
