After school Pet sat on the steps waiting for her dad. She watched as all the other kids ran up to their parents and hugged them. She looked around for Zim and couldn’t find him.

“Who are you waiting for?” asked a familiar voice.

Pet looked behind her to see Chimley. He looked like he had never lost his smile.

“I-I’m waiting for my dad,” she said.

“I’ll wait with you,” he said sitting next to her.

Pet gave a small smile.

“Dank you,” she said.

Chimley’s smile got bigger.

“No problem. What’s your dad look like?” Chimley asked.

“He got black hair like me…and his eyes are blue, but not as dark as mine. And he tall…and very skinny. And he really young,” Pet said thinking as she talked.

“How young?” Chimley asked as soon as Zim walked up.

“Hey kid!” Zim greeted.

“Hi daddy!” Pet said as she ran over and hugged his leg.

Zim smiled as he bent down and hugged her.

“How was your first day at school?” he asked.

“It ok. I made new friend,” she said pointing to Chimley who had a confused look on his face.

“Hi. I’m Zim. I’m Pet’s dad,” Zim said standing up and holding his hand out to shake.

“You’re a teenager,” Chimley said sounding confused.

“Pet’s adopted,” Zim said rolling his eyes.

Chimley’s smile came back on his face.

“Ok then!” he said standing up off the stairs and shaking his hand, “My name’s Chimley!”

“How old are you?” Zim asked with a confused look and looking at Chimley from top to bottom.

“I’m twelve, and you?” Chimley asked.

“Sixteen. Dang…four years younger than I am,” Zim replied with a smile.

“Heh…yea,” he said with a nervous smile.

“You ok Chimwey?” Pet asked.

“Fine! Fine!” Chimley said with his normal smile back on his face.

“Ok then…me and Pet should probably get home. Everyone’s waiting to hear about Pet’s first day of school,” Zim said picking Pet up and putting her on his shoulders.

“Ok!” Pet said with a large smile.

Just then Zim saw Pet’s hands. He took them and looked at them.

“What happened to your hands Pet?” he asked sounding upset.

“I fell…” Pet said sadly as she pulled them away.

Zim sighed.

“We’ll get you looked at later,” he said.

“K,” Pet said still sad looking.

Chimley frowned.

“I’ll see you tomorrow?” he asked.

“And me if you wait with her tomorrow too,” Zim said with a smile.

“Ok!” Chimley said brightening up.

“See ya!” Zim said walking off.

Chimley waved and ran off in the opposite direction.

Once Zim and Pet got home and Zim took Pet off his shoulders and put her on the ground. As soon as Pet hit the ground Gir tackled Pet into a hug.

“Hi Petty!” Gir shouted happily.

“Hi Gir,” she said giggling and hugging him back.

Gaz came up from the couch and smiled.

“Hey Pet! How was your first day of school?” Gaz asked.

“I made new friend!” Pet said with a smile.

“And I got to meet him,” Zim said with a smile.

“Do I gets to meet him!?”  Gir asked happily.

“Maybe tomorrow Gir,” Zim said with a smile.

“Where uncle Dib, aunt Takky, aunt Tully, and uncle Bobby?” Pet asked.

“Well…I think Dib and Tak had to stay after school for something, and Bob and Tallulah probably went to the mall or something,” Gaz answered.

“Ok!” Pet said with a smile.

“We should celebrate Petty’s first day of schools!”  Gir said with a grin.

Zim smiled.

“Bloaty’s anyone?” Zim asked.

“YEAH!” Gir and Gaz said happily at the same time.

“Oks!” Pet said with a big smile.

Zim opened the door and everyone went to get some pizza.
